Born and raised in the university city of Leuven, whose Irish College of St Anthony has been a centre of learning since the seventeenth century. While studying for a Ph.D. in Chemistry in the early 2000s at the University of Chicago, Lieve also undertook tuition in carillon under the resident carillonneur, Wylie Crawford. Now living in the Cork area, she is delighted to renew her interest in the instrument so much associated with her native country.
